The Minister for Ageing, the Hon Julie Bishop, spoke earlier in the year at a function hosted in Mindarie by the Hon Judi Moylan, Member for Pearce.
At the community morning tea the Minister discussed with community members the importance of quality care, the provision of facilities to cater for the ageing and the desire of many elderly people to remain at home in their later years.
The Minister told the guests of the Federal Government’s commitment to increasing aged care places and to providing adequate services for older Australians.
She said the Federal Government also continued to fund groundbreaking research which looks into the cause and treatment of dementia.
Ms Moylan was grateful to the Minister for taking the time in her busy schedule to speak to the people of Mindarie and surrounding communities.
