Member for Pearce, Judi Moylan strongly endorses a new business initiative, put forward by the North East Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce yesterday, in a joint meeting with Senator The Hon Ian Campbell, Minister for Local Government, Territories, and Roads.
She said the idea offered far-reaching opportunities for business development within the region with a strong emphasis on helping businesses maximise export markets.
Ms Moylan said the idea of combining the efforts of six North East Perth local government areas, with their integration and by working alongside businesses the pooled resources could achieve great results.
Ms Moylan said she favoured the plan as it looked at the cohesion of related groups, leadership aspects, access to information, including the proposal to start an Internet portal with the site aimed to be a facilitator for several objectives including; a regional business opportunities register, a corporate leaders (information) exchange program and a trade information and promotion service.
“I am impressed with the amount of work which has been done by all concerned but particularly by the president and executive officer of NEMCC, towards this worthwhile project and I hope to see it come to fruition in the near future,” Ms Moylan said.
“I will be closely following and supporting their progress,” she said.
The NEMCC was established to bring cohesion and leadership to local business groups, to combine the efforts of local, State and Federal governments and to support local businesses and communities to achieve their potential.
