The veteran community at Cambrai Village, Merriwa will benefit from a Commonwealth Government grant of $5217 to the Royal Australian Air Force Association, Member for Pearce Hon Judi Moylan MP said today.
“The Royal Australian Air Force Association WA operates a network of retirement villages and aged care facilities in Western Australia, including Cambrai Village at Merriwa,” Ms Moylan said.
“This grant will be used to purchase woodworking equipment for a workshop at Cambrai Village.”
Ms Moylan says that Veteran & Community grants recognise the needs of veterans and war widows across Australia, including those located in the Pearce electorate.
Veteran and Community Grants, which are administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs, support a range of community activities which promote healthy lifestyles and help veterans live independently at home and support their carers.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mr Graeme Bland, President of the RAAFA in WA for the organisation’s successful grant application.”
“I enjoy visiting the veterans at Cambrai Village in Merriwa. They are deserving of this grant.”
