The City of Swan, working with the Cities of Wanneroo, Cockburn, Rockingham and Stirling and the WA Local Government Association, is one of 15 Australian groups to share in almost $5 million in Federal grants. The City of Swan has been allocated $495,810.
This month Industry Minister, Hon Ian Macfarlane MP, announced the first 15 collaborative business projects to receive grants under the Australian Government’s $25 million Industry Cooperative Innovation Program (ICIP).
Member for Pearce Judi Moylan MP congratulated the City of Swan on its continuing success in furthering the community.
“The City of Swan continues to show initiative with a forward-thinking approach,” Ms Moylan said.
She explained the Government program was for innovative industry ideas.
“Grants ranging from $50,000 to $1.49 million have been offered to projects which involve business-to-business cooperation, drawing together expertise from different corners of an industry to come up with an Australian response, product or solution,” she said.
“These projects aren’t the work of any one particular company or business, they are important industry and business collaborations providing an industry-wide response while also growing jobs, productivity and export opportunities,” said Mr Macfarlane.
ICIP provides the opportunity, and funding, to come up with industry-wide technologies.
