Pearce students to benefit from Federal funding

The Australian Government will provide $62,310 to local schools to advance the educational results of Indigenous students in Pearce. Member for Pearce Judi Moylan MP said the Whole of School Intervention Strategy focused on implementing creative approaches to improving the educational outcomes of Indigenous school students. In Pearce seven schools are involved. Clarkson Community High School - working in conjunction with Merriwa Primary School, Quinns Beach Primary School and Clarkson Primary School - will receive $36,000 between 2005-09 for the Transition Program into High School project. The Swan View Primary Project has been allocated $7660 between 2005-08, York District High School has been awarded $6150 from 2005 to 2007 and Bakers Hill Primary School will get $12,500 for 2005-2008 for its Attendance and Literacy and Numeracy Project. The Whole of School Intervention Strategy encourages schools, parents and communities to work together to achieve positive results.
