Northern Region set to benefit from new Local Community Partnership Network

Balga Job Link Inc has been chosen as one of five preferred applicants for a new, expanded Local Community Partnerships (LCP) Network. This service will cover the electorates of Cowan, Moore and Pearce. The Local Community Partnerships scheme is part of the Australian Network of Industry Careers Advisers (ANICA) initiative, announced in September last year. The ANICA program aims to increase support available to young people to achieve a smooth transition through school and from school to further education, training and work. Member for Pearce Judi Moylan said: “The program is aimed at 13-19 year-olds. Our children are our future and it’s vital that we equip them with the necessary skills and training to succeed in life. “Contract negotiations still need to be finalised with the preferred organisations.” Federal Government funding of $42 million annually will support the new network to facilitate Structured Workplace Learning, the new Career and Transition Support Program and the Adopt a School Program. The other four preferred networks which cover Pearce include the Swan Alliance Inc in Beechboro, SWVETlink in Busselton, Hotham Pallinup Lakes LCP at Northam and the Central Area Region Training Scheme, also at Northam.
