The Defence community in Pearce will benefit from $4324 in family grants, Member for Pearce Judi Moylan announced today.
Ms Moylan said the Pearce Community Toy Library and Social Group would benefit from the $4324 grant.
The grant will go towards new equipment for the centre including a printer, new office furniture, supplies and replacement toys. The group also hopes to replace an old air conditioning unit and purchase a coffee machine and beanbags.
“The Australian Government recognises the important contribution and sacrifices made by families who support the men and women of the ADF,” Ms Moylan said.
“Those who have chosen a military career have chosen not only a job but a way of life for their families. This can mean frequent postings around Australia and a significant amount of time on their own while loved ones are deployed on operations or exercises.”
The grant was one of 55 – totalling $946,000 – approved by Veterans’ Affairs Minister The Hon De-Anne Kelly to groups in all states and territories and in Malaysia.
