Funding for Home and Community Care in Pingelly

Member for Pearce Judi Moylan today welcomed the announcement of a funding boost for Home and Community Care in Pingelly. Pingelly Home Care will receive $60,000 in non-recurrent funding as a contribution towards establishing a Centre Based Day Care building. Currently in the town there are no suitable facilities for clients who are eligible to receive HACC services. Ms Moylan said this was a significant funding boost for Pingelly. “HACC services allow frail aged people and younger people with disabilities to remain in their own homes with the support of their families,” she said. In this round about $2 million in HACC funding has been allocated to Western Australia. In 2004-05 the Australian Government has contributed $791.9 million nationally, which was an increase of 8.12 per cent on 2003-04.
