Three veterans groups in the electorate of Pearce have been successful in receiving Australian Government funding through the Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) program.
• The Yanchep/Two Rocks RSL will receive $450 through the scheme for consumables;
• The Royal Australian Signals Association of WA will be provided with $2930 for a desktop computer, Internet access and office consumables; and
• A BEST grant of $4200 was approved for the National Servicemen’s Association of Australia WA Branch for a desktop computer, laser printer and consumables.
“Ex-service organisations play a vital role in supporting veterans, war widows and widowers, current and former defence members and their dependants,” according to Member for Pearce Judi Moylan.
Ms Moylan said BEST grants funding had more than doubled to $3.5 million during 2005-06.
