Pearce schools to receive $24,800 in Australian Government funding

Three schools located in the electorate of Pearce will share in $24,818 through the Australian Government’s Whole of School Intervention Strategy.
According to Member for Pearce Judi Moylan, the Whole of School Intervention Strategy focuses on the implementation of creative approaches to improving the educational outcomes of Indigenous school students.
“The program encourages primary and high schools, Indigenous parents and communities to work together to improve Indigenous students’ attendance, literacy and numeracy skills, retention from Years 10 to 12 and Year 12 results,” Ms Moylan said.
The four projects are as follows –
• Yanchep District High School will receive $6,416 through the program for its Attendance and Retention Project.
• Swan View Senior High School will receive $11,850 for its Attendance Project.
• The Australian Government will fund two initiatives of the Middle Swan Primary School. The Middle Swan Primary Breakfast Program ($3165) and the Middle Swan Literacy and Numeracy Project ($3387).
“I would like to congratulate those at Yanchep District High School, Swan View Senior High School and Middle Swan Primary School who initiated these excellent programs,” she said.
“I look forward to hearing of their success.”
