Funding to help reduce the incidence of bushfires in Pearce
Posted on Monday, 4 July 2005
Western Australia has received $650,000 to be used for bushfire trails across the State.
Areas in Pearce, including the Swan Region, the Perth Hills, the Swan Coastal District and Narrogin will share in this total.
The funding will enhance the construction, maintenance and signage of local bushfire trail networks, according to Member for Pearce Judi Moylan.
“Fire trails are important resources in the facilitation of bushfire prevention and mitigation works,” Ms Moylan said.
She said there were a number of key stakeholders involved in the project including local organisations and Local Government.
The Federal Government investment has been matched by the State Government.
