With $200 million to be provided to community organisations thanks to a nation-wide $200 million Community Water Grants Programme, Pearce waterways should be clean and crystal clear.
The Australian Government is committed to helping the work of local environmental groups, according to Member for Pearce Judi Moylan.
“Community organisations which receive this funding will be in a position to conserve water and improve the state of their local rivers and waterways,” Ms Moylan said.
She said the program was aimed at schools, volunteer groups and local government and was particularly for on-the-ground water-saving solutions.”
“As I travel across the Pearce electorate I am astounded at the time and effort locals put into conserving our environment for future generations. Without them our environment, lakes, oceans and waterways would not be as healthy as they are today.
“May I congratulate them on their hard work and I look forward to supporting funding applications for groups across Pearce for this initiative.”
