Moylan visits areas affected by Hills fires

Member for Pearce Judi Moylan visited properties in the Hills area affected by the recent fires and paid tribute to the incredible work of fire fighters and volunteers in containing the fires and limiting the risk to residents and the damage to property.
"It is heartbreaking to see so much of the natural bushland and so many orchards burnt and the terrible loss of wildlife and birds. The loss of sheds, reticulation, ripening fruit and many fruit trees is traumatic to orchdardists, particularly at a time when the fruit is at its best," Ms Moylan said.
Calling on homes in Boya Mrs Moylan said: "Some of the homes had been damaged and one can only begin to imagine the heartbreak for the affected homeowners."
Everyone has been grateful for the generous actions of the many volunteers and the community in general."
"It has once again highlighted the importance of community and caring friends and neighbours," she said.
A great debt of gratitude is owed to the fire fighters, support crews, families and friends, wildlife rescue teams and other volunteers who all worked together to both minimise the effect of the fires and to assist those who had to evacuate their homes.
