Older Australians living in the Avon Region of Pearce will benefit from six new packages to provide aged care services to people in their own home, Member for Pearce Judi Moylan announced today.
“The Australian Government is providing more than $70,170 to support the new places through the Community Aged Care Packages and Extended Aged Care at Home programs,” Ms Moylan said.
“This demonstrates the Australian Government’s recognition of the need for further support for the increasing number of older Australians who wish to remain in their home and community,” she said.
Share & Care Community Services Group Incorporated at Northam has been allocated six packages worth an estimated $70,176.
“These new places bring the Australian Government’s total to more than 68,600 new aged care places since 1996 – compare this to the 10,000 bed shortage left by Labor in 1996,” Ms Moylan said.
“By providing places to enable older Australians to access care when and where they need it, we are delivering on our vision for a world class system of aged care that provides high quality, affordable and accessible services to meet the individual needs and choices of older Australians.”
